Central Bucks Regional Police arrested a 38-year-old Doylestown Borough man on felony charges after he allegedly choked a victim unconscious and struck a child during a domestic assault Thursday, Oct. 15.
Nathaniel Reis Jr. faces charges of aggravated assault, strangulation, two counts of simple assault, endangering the welfare of a child, terrorist threats and disorderly engage fighting, Patch first reported.
Police said Reis, who is known to the victim, allegedly grabbed the victim by the neck with both hands and pushed them against a wall. He allegedly stated, "I'll kill you," according to police.
The victim was thrown to the ground, causing their face to hit the floor and a brief loss of consciousness, police said.
A child was also hurt. Police said a minor who had been hiding in a closet was struck in the head when Reis threw open the closet door.
Reis fled before officers arrived. Doylestown Township Police spotted him and conducted a traffic stop. Central Bucks Regional Police then arrived and took Reis into custody.
He was arraigned, and a judge set bail at 10 percent of $250,000. That means Reis would need to post $25,000 for release. He was remanded to Bucks County Correctional Facility.
The charges are allegations. No conviction has been entered in the case.
