Two specialty food shops at Peddler's Village in Lahaska are throwing a free open house Tuesday, Oct. 13, from 4 to 7 p.m. to celebrate 15 years in business.

Sticky Situations and Extra Virgin, the connected honey and olive oil tasting shops, will offer refreshments, hourly giveaways and 15% discounts during the "Bees and Trees" celebration, Doylestown Patch reported. The name references the shops' two signature product lines: honey and olive oil.

The event is running simultaneously at all seven of the company's locations across three states. Beyond the Peddler's Village pair, the company operates Sticky Situations, Extra Virgin and Tartufo shops at Olde Mistick Village in Mystic, Connecticut, and Sticky Situations and Extra Virgin at the River Place Shops in Frankenmuth, Michigan.

Stephen J. Clemente, the company's founder, started the business in 2011 with a single storefront in Mystic. He has since grown it into a seven-location operation selling raw varietal honeys, cold-pressed olive oils, aged balsamic vinegars, pasta and sauces.

"Reaching seven locations across three historic retail villages is something we could never have done without our devoted community of food lovers," Clemente said in a statement. "The 'Bees and Trees' celebration is our way of saying thank you."

The shops function as tasting rooms where visitors can sample products before buying. Sticky Situations carries raw and unfiltered honey, flavored honey, honey butter, bee pollen, maple syrup and teas, according to the company's website. Extra Virgin, located next door, focuses on olive oils and vinegars.

Tuesday's event also launches the Golden Jars Giveaway, which runs through Dec. 31. Fifteen customers who find a winning QR code under the lid of a Sticky Situations honey jar will win a case of their favorite honey. Winners choose either 12 eight-ounce jars or 24 four-ounce jars.

Details are available at stickysituationshoney.com. The giveaway runs at all locations through the end of the year.
