Warwick Elementary School families will have a new principal greeting students when the 2026-27 school year begins.
Central Bucks School District selected Christie Corcoran to lead the school ahead of the district's first full-day kindergarten rollout and a grade realignment initiative affecting all 15 elementary buildings.
Corcoran, who has served as assistant principal at Groveland Elementary for the past three years, was named the district's choice to replace retiring principal Brian Finger, according to a CBSD announcement published in May.
"I am honored and excited to introduce myself as the new principal of Warwick Elementary School," Corcoran wrote in a May 27 message to Warwick families. "It is truly a privilege to join such a strong and supportive community, and I am looking forward to beginning this journey together."
Before Groveland, Corcoran spent 13 years as a teacher at Kutz Elementary. She brings 20 years of experience in Central Bucks schools as both a classroom teacher and administrator.
Finger, who led Warwick Elementary, announced his retirement effective Thursday, August 21. He was among 67 CBSD employees honored at the district's annual retirement ceremony on May 27 at Central Bucks East High School. According to the district, Finger and Corcoran planned to work together over the summer to ensure a smooth handoff before his departure.
The leadership change arrives as Warwick and every other CBSD elementary school prepare for significant operational changes. New Superintendent Dr. Joanna Wexler, who started July 1, has identified full-day kindergarten and grade realignment as top priorities, meaning Corcoran will navigate both a leadership transition and programmatic shifts simultaneously. The district's grade realignment initiative will also reshape elementary configurations this fall, though Warwick-specific details have not been released.
Families can check the CBSD district calendar at cbsd.org for the official first day of school and watch for communications from Corcoran as the transition continues.
