Flagship Carwash has opened a new location at 545 West Butler Ave. in New Britain Township, the car wash chain's latest expansion into the Philadelphia suburbs, according to Patch.

Officials from Flagship and the Central Bucks Chamber of Commerce cut the ribbon on the facility. Chamber President and CEO Theresa M. Fera's organization said in a statement that members toured the site and called the car wash a welcome addition to the community.

The new location features automated soft-cloth tunnel washing and interior cleaning options.

Flagship is a brand of Spotless Brands, a national car wash operator headquartered in Oakbrook Terrace, Ill., with more than 220 locations. The company entered the Philadelphia market after acquiring Pete's Express Car Wash, a six-site chain founded in 1986, in a deal announced Nov. 20, 2025. That acquisition was financed through a $450 million credit facility.

Spotless Brands is converting the six former Pete's Express sites to the Flagship brand. CEO John Standley said in November 2025 that "Philadelphia and the surrounding Northeast corridor present a strong opportunity for the growth of Spotless."

Flagship expects to operate more than 36 locations across Greater Philadelphia by the end of 2027, according to the company's press release. The New Britain Township site is one of more than 30 new builds the company says are underway.

The chain already has an approved site in Warrington Township, where supervisors signed off on plans to redevelop the former Rock Star car wash on Easton Road near Bristol Road.

Closer to home, Flagship has proposed a 6,935-square-foot car wash in Buckingham Township to replace the gas station and Dunkin' property on North Easton Road near Routes 202 and 313. Herb McClary, Flagship's director of corporate development, told Buckingham supervisors at their July 21 work session that the company anticipates "150,000 cars per year, 35 cars an hour based on a 12 hour window, with different peaks."

Buckingham supervisors raised concerns about vehicle stacking and traffic near the congested intersection. The project still needs zoning relief for parking and tree removal, according to Central Bucks Now. Flagship has also proposed a location in Lower Makefield Township.

No hearing date for either the Buckingham or Lower Makefield proposals has been announced.
