Democrat Madeleine Dean won reelection in Pennsylvania’s 4th Congressional District, defeating Republican Aurora Stuski in the Nov. 3 election, according to Decision Desk HQ.

DDHQ’s Nov. 4, 1:20 a.m. EST tally showed Dean with 231,425 votes (67.10%) and Stuski with 113,464 (32.90%), with an estimated 90% counted. The organization called the race Nov. 3 at 8 p.m. The totals cover the full district and remain unofficial and subject to certification.

The result keeps the seat in Democratic hands. Lower Merion is divided between the 4th and 5th congressional districts, making Dean’s contest one of two U.S. House races involving township voters. The 4th District includes communities in Montgomery and Berks counties; its vote totals should not be read as a measure of Lower Merion alone.

Dean, who was raised in Glenside, is a lawyer and former writing and ethics instructor at La Salle University. She served as an Abington Township commissioner and entered the Pennsylvania House after a 2012 special election before winning her first congressional election in 2018. Her official biography lists the House Appropriations and Foreign Affairs committees as her current assignments and identifies gun-violence prevention and health care access as priorities.

Stuski described herself in her 2026 Ballotpedia candidate survey as a small-business owner and community volunteer who has lived in Montgomery County for more than 36 years. She said she earned a fine arts degree at Arcadia University with a minor in business administration. Those biographical details are her own account.

Her campaign emphasized reducing costs, supporting small businesses, backing law enforcement, enforcing immigration laws and making government more accountable. Her website also outlined proposals on college affordability and support for aging adults with disabilities and their families.

The candidates were seeking a two-year term in the U.S. House. Dean’s return preserves the district’s incumbent representation as Congress takes up federal spending, foreign policy and other legislation. Election officials will continue processing and reviewing ballots before certifying the result.
