Shoppers at Altomonte's Italian Market in Doylestown can buy beef raised on a 300-acre New Britain Township farm, the market announced in August.

The partnership with Coleman Hay Farms brings locally raised Bucks County cattle to Altomonte's butcher counters at 800–812 North Easton Road in Doylestown and at its Warminster location. Patch first reported the deal on Wednesday, Aug. 19.

Coleman Hay Farms is run by brothers Shawn and Andrew Coleman, first-generation farmers who have worked together since 2014. Shawn Coleman graduated from Delaware Valley University with a degree in agri-business in 2016; his brother Andrew followed in 2018. Their parents, Mike and Coleen Coleman, purchased the farm property in February 2021, according to the farm's website.

The farm spans more than 300 acres across Bucks County. Its cattle rotate through open pastures and eat a diet of hay, grain and a custom silage blend, Altomonte's said in a statement reported by BucksCo.Today.

Both are family operations. Altomonte's traces its history to Mike's Meats, a Philadelphia butcher shop the Grispino family founded in 1971. The market is celebrating its 55th anniversary this year.

Altomonte's said the personal attention given to each animal stood out to the market's owners when evaluating the partnership.

Customers can order Coleman Hay Farms beef as a whole cow, half cow, quarter cow or individual cuts. The market's butchers will also custom-cut orders on request.

The Coleman brothers also plan to open a farm market called Coleman's Farm on the Bend on Sellersville Road in Chalfont, where they intend to sell their beef and chicken directly to the public. No opening date has been announced.
