Buckingham Township residents can weigh in on the future of land use and development at a public workshop Friday, Sept. 18, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Township Building.

The Planning Commission workshop is part of the township's push to rewrite its Comprehensive Plan, which sets the rules for how Buckingham grows. The plan shapes decisions on zoning, development, roads and community services across the township's 33 square miles, the largest municipal footprint in Bucks County.

The Bucks County Planning Commission is helping lead the update, according to a Planning Commission agenda from April 14. That agenda listed a resident survey, a project website called BCPC Connects and internal workshop preparation among its items. Residents who cannot attend Friday's session may be able to provide input through the BCPC Connects site, though the township has not publicized a direct link.

The planning effort has been building for months. The township's Summer 2026 newsletter featured the Comprehensive Plan update, and the township held a related session Tuesday, Sept. 15, as part of a public series branded "Buckingham: Beyond 325," according to a township Facebook post. Whether Friday's workshop is the second installment in that series or a separate Planning Commission meeting is not clear from township postings.

No township official has commented publicly on what Friday's workshop will cover or what feedback the Planning Commission is seeking.

The township is asking residents to attend and offer their views on how Buckingham should develop. The workshop is open to the public and runs two hours.

Also at the Township Building on Friday, Heritage Conservancy staff member Tyler Kovacs is scheduled to present on meadow ecology from 6 to 8 p.m. The talk covers native plants, wildflowers, pollinator habitats and watershed benefits in Bucks County. Heritage Conservancy is based in Doylestown.

The Township Building is at 4613 Hughesian Drive. No additional Comprehensive Plan workshop dates have been announced. Residents looking to participate can attend Friday's 7 p.m. session.
