A 16-year-old boy allegedly attacked a friend's mother at Covered Bridge Park in New Britain Borough, the Central Bucks Regional Police Department reported in its August monthly report, published by Patch.

The boy was under the influence of illegal substances during the Aug. 15 incident at 229 Keeley Ave. The victim suffered a severe eye injury and facial lacerations. Officers found the boy naked at the park and charged him with aggravated assault, simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment.

The same park saw trouble earlier in the month. On Aug. 4, a 16-year-old girl from Warrington was charged with an underage drinking violation after officers checked a suspicious parked vehicle.

DUI driver entered police lot

One of the month's more unusual incidents came Aug. 27, when a 45-year-old Doylestown man drove into the secured parking lot at the police department's headquarters at 229 N. Broad St. in Doylestown Borough. He parked and got out. He told officers he wanted to photograph the headlights on a patrol car because of a DUI charge the night before. Police charged him with driving under the influence, defiant trespass and public drunkenness.

That man had been charged with DUI on Aug. 26 after a traffic stop for erratic driving at E. Oakland Avenue and S. Pine Street in Doylestown Borough.

In all, the department logged five DUI charges during August across Doylestown Borough and New Britain Borough. A 36-year-old Doylestown woman was charged Aug. 8 after running a red light and hitting a curb on E. Butler Ave. in New Britain Borough. On Aug. 20, a 23-year-old Plumstead man was found slumped in the driver's seat of a parked, running vehicle at the 7-Eleven at 490 E. Butler Ave. in New Britain Borough. A 30-year-old Jamison woman was charged Aug. 23 after driving the wrong way on a one-way street at 120 E. State St. in Doylestown Borough.

Thefts and altercations

A 39-year-old Philadelphia man was charged with motor vehicle theft Aug. 13 after allegedly taking a Polaris Ranger from the rear yard of Eagle Power at 697 N. Main St. in Doylestown Borough. Officers found the vehicle parked on Church Street a short time later. He was still holding the key.

A 65-year-old man was charged with retail theft Aug. 14 at the Acme at 480 N. Main St. in Doylestown Borough. He was found sitting outside the store with stolen items.

The report also listed four disorderly conduct charges for public urination in Doylestown Borough during August, along with multiple harassment cases. Those included a physical altercation with an employee at Chambers restaurant, 19 N. Main St., on Aug. 9 and a domestic dispute over a dog custody exchange at Center Square Towers on Aug. 25.
