Doylestown nonprofit Main St. opens its ninth year of breast cancer fundraising with a free community event on Tuesday, Sept. 29, at Thompson Toyota.

The kickoff runs from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the dealership, 122 W. Swamp Road. Three people will receive the Main St. Sandy Roberts Earth Angel Awards, named for the nonprofit's first patient in 2018.

Attendees can sign Thompson's illuminated pink arch with messages for loved ones affected by breast cancer. A luminary stroll and live music from Rebekah Massey and Nook Nook Creative Music School round out the evening.

Each Earth Angel honoree was chosen by a 2025 award recipient. Dr. Sonal Mayekar selected Mona Dunlap. Jackie Winderman selected Tina Hutnyk. Kimberly Cobb selected Chris Kappler. The three will be recognized for their impact on the local breast cancer community, according to Central Bucks News.

The Sept. 29 event anchors a month of fundraisers across Bucks County. Main St., formerly known as Pine2Pink, has raised more than $830,000 since its founding and helped more than 3,500 local breast cancer patients and their families, according to Patch. The nonprofit funds transportation to treatment, food delivery, cold-capping assistance, comfort bags and infusion chairs.

Founder and executive director Keith Fenimore has described the campaign's community roots in personal terms. In an Aug. 14 interview with Central Bucks News about the Oct. 30 "TP My House" fundraiser, Fenimore said, "People always ask me how they can help."

The 2026 campaign benefits patients at five area facilities: Fox Chase Cancer Center Buckingham, Penn Medicine Doylestown Health Cancer Institute, St. Luke's Grand View Hospital, St. Mary Medical Center and the Kin Wellness and Support Center in Buckingham Township. Kin, operated by Main St., surpassed 10,000 free services for cancer patients and caregivers during its first five years, Central Bucks News reported in August.

Bucks County will see an estimated 655 new cases of female breast cancer in 2026, a rate slightly higher than the Pennsylvania average, according to National Cancer Institute data cited by PhillyBurbs.

The Thompson Organization returns as title sponsor. Giovanni's Fine Fashions is the presenting sponsor.
