Doylestown Hospital is the only Bucks County facility to land on U.S. News & World Report's 2026 Best Hospitals list for Pennsylvania, placing it among just 28 hospitals statewide that met the publication's standards for patient outcomes and specialty care.
The rankings, published in August, evaluated 217 Pennsylvania hospitals across 14 specialties including cancer, cardiology, obstetrics, orthopedics and neurology. That's fewer than 13 percent that made the cut.
U.S. News based its assessments on each hospital's skill in handling complex medical conditions and its performance treating patients for common procedures such as knee and hip replacements, heart attacks and strokes, according to a Philly Burbs report on the rankings.
For Central Bucks residents, the recognition means their community hospital performed at a level that distinguished it from nearly 190 other Pennsylvania facilities that did not earn a spot. The nearest other ranked hospital in the suburban Philadelphia region is Jefferson Abington Hospital in Montgomery County.
The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia topped the state list, earning national recognition in 12 specialties and a place on U.S. News's honor roll of the 20 best hospitals in the country.
