Elementary students in Doylestown can win a police escort to school by entering the Central Bucks Regional Police Department's returning Halloween costume contest.

The CBRPD announced on its CrimeWatch page that the contest is open to students at Doyle, Pine Run and Linden Elementary schools. Parents can submit a photo of their child in costume by email to [email protected] by Sunday, Nov. 1. Each entry must include the child's grade and school.

The department will post submitted photos on its Facebook page for public voting. No names will appear with the photos. A winner will be announced Friday, Nov. 6.

The prize: a police escort to school and treats to share with classmates.

By submitting a photo, parents authorize the department to post their child's picture publicly, according to the announcement.

The department, led by Chief Karl Knott, ran the same contest in 2025 with the same three schools eligible. Last year's edition named winners at each school, but the 2026 announcement refers to a single winner. Parents may want to check the department's Facebook page for clarification as voting begins.

The submission email, [email protected], matches Karen Edwards, listed in the department's 2024 annual report as its Victim Services Specialist. Parents with questions can also reach CBRPD by phone at 215-345-4143.
