A 57-year-old Hilltown Township man died Friday, Oct. 2, after his Porsche Cayenne crossed into oncoming traffic on Diamond Street and hit a Subaru carrying a woman and infant.

The crash happened around 6:57 p.m. on the 1200 block of Diamond Street, east of Narothyn Road, according to a joint announcement Saturday, Oct. 3, from Hilltown Township Police and the Bucks County District Attorney's Office Crash Team, as reported by Central Bucks Now.

Police said the Porsche was heading eastbound when its right-side tires left the roadway. The vehicle then veered left into the westbound lane, where it collided head-on with the Subaru Legacy.

The Porsche driver was the only person in his vehicle. He was taken to St. Luke's Grand View Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police had not released his name as of Saturday, Oct. 3.

At least one person was in traumatic cardiac arrest at the scene Friday evening, according to NorthPenn Now's report from the scene. Firefighters extricated at least one person from a vehicle. Diamond Street was closed between Schoolhouse Road and Orchard Road while a crash reconstruction team worked the scene.

The Subaru's driver reported no injuries. A female front-seat passenger and an infant in a rear car seat were both transported to St. Luke's Grand View Hospital for treatment. Police had not released an update on their conditions as of Saturday, Oct. 3.

Police said they are investigating whether alcohol played a role. The exact cause remains under investigation.

Clifford Mungavin, Chal-Brit Regional EMS chief of operations, told Central Bucks Now that four people total were treated by EMS and transported to the hospital. Two were brought for evaluation, including a minor.

"On behalf of Chal-Brit, our prayers are with the families of everybody involved," Mungavin said.

Hilltown Township Police were assisted at the scene by the Silverdale Fire Department, Sellersville Fire Company, Chal-Brit EMS Medic 159, St. Luke's Medic 151 and VMSC Medic 345.
