A living history show portraying five women who shaped America comes to Doylestown's Mercer Museum on Saturday, Oct. 24.
Gather Place, a Yardley-based community history organization, will perform "Remember the Ladies 2026!" at the museum at 2 p.m. The one-hour show features costumed portrayals of Alice of Dunks Ferry, Hannah Penn, Abigail Adams, Lucretia Mott and Ida B. Wells-Barnett, according to the Mercer Museum's event listing.
The performance is billed as an America 250th Anniversary event, produced in collaboration with the Bucks County Historical Society, which operates the museum at 84 South Pine St.
Tickets are $15 for general admission and $10 for Bucks County Historical Society members. Seating is limited. Tickets can be purchased through the Mercer Museum's website.
Shirley Lee Corsey, executive director of Gather Place, said the group's mission extends well beyond designated heritage months.
"Who says Black history belongs only in February and women's history only in March? Certainly not me!" Corsey said in an Oct. 2 interview with BucksCounty.Today. "At Gather Place, we bring BOTH to life—all year long."
Gather Place writes, produces and performs all of its own shows. The organization is housed in a historic 1877 African Methodist Episcopal Church at 188 South Canal St. in Yardley.
Doors open at 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 24.
