A 15-year-old from Plumsteadville will compete on national television Monday night when Central Bucks East student Nick Warren takes the course in the American Ninja Warrior national finals.

The episode airs Monday, Aug. 24, at 8 p.m. on NBC, with streaming available the next day on Peacock. It's the third and final night of Season 18's national finals, filmed in Las Vegas.

Warren, who trains 10 to 12 hours a week, has been climbing and swinging since he discovered the sport at a birthday party at The Gravity Forge Ninja Training Center in Hatboro roughly a decade ago. He was hooked within two weeks, according to BUCKSCO.Today.

He punched his ticket to the finals after powering through the central regional rounds, including a head-to-head Tripleheader race against veteran competitor Donovan Metoyer and 16-year-old Dylan Yee. The Tripleheader is a new three-lane racecourse format introduced this season.

But the biggest force behind Warren's run isn't an obstacle. It's his younger sister, Alex, who has dyspraxia, a neurodevelopmental condition affecting motor coordination.

"I realized just how strong she was and powerful she was," Nick told the Bucks County Courier Times' Michele Haddon in a feature published Thursday, Aug. 20. "It's incredible that she still walks around every day with a smile on her face, all positive, all happiness, all full of joy."

Alex said watching her brother push through obstacles taught her that "anything's possible." She told the Courier Times she learned that if you keep pushing yourself, "maybe one day you can … maybe do the impossible."

Warren isn't a one-sport athlete. He plays varsity football at CB East and rugby for the Doylestown Dragons U16 team. He has competed at World Ninja League events, including the 2023 World Ninja Finals.

Still, it's the ninja course that earned him a national stage.

Season 18's all-racing finals format puts a $250,000 grand prize on the line, with hosts Matt Iseman and Akbar Gbajabiamila calling the action alongside co-host Zuri Hall. Warren's episode airs Monday, Aug. 24, at 8 p.m. on NBC.
