A 25-year-old New Britain Township man faces felony charges after police say he fled a traffic stop near the Wawa on West Butler Avenue, drove home, put on a bullet-resistant vest and repeatedly threatened to murder officers who followed him.
Brian Brashon Louis Teat, of the 700 block of N. Limekiln Pike, was charged with felony aggravated assault, terroristic threats, fleeing or attempting to elude police, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and harassment, according to Central Bucks Now, which first reported the charges. He also received traffic citations for driving without a license, careless driving and failing to use a turn signal.
Teat is jailed in Bucks County on 10% of $300,000 cash bail. A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 18, before Magisterial District Judge Regina Armitage. The outcome was not immediately available.
How it unfolded
A New Britain Township officer was patrolling near the Wawa at 525 W. Butler Ave. at about 10:32 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, when he spotted Teat driving a black Jeep Cherokee, according to the criminal complaint. The officer recognized Teat and knew he held a Pennsylvania identification card rather than a valid driver's license.
The officer followed the Jeep onto westbound County Line Road, where Teat allegedly accelerated and cut off two vehicles. Police stopped him near County Line Road and Lexington Avenue.
During the stop, an officer saw a THC vaping device in the center console. Teat handed over three opened bags of marijuana and produced a medical marijuana card, the complaint states.
Because Teat could not legally drive, officers tried to arrange for someone to pick him up. He became extremely agitated, shouted racial slurs at an officer and threatened to flee, according to the affidavit. As an officer attempted to contact Teat's mother, he allegedly shifted the Jeep into drive and sped away, using the shoulder to pass westbound traffic.
Vest and threats at home
Officers arrived at Teat's home shortly before 11 a.m. and found the Jeep in the driveway with a passenger door open. Teat walked from the garage carrying a stack of boxes and wearing what appeared to be a bullet-resistant vest in a plate-carrier configuration, police said.
An officer drew his firearm and ordered Teat to the ground. Teat initially complied. He then began screaming and violently pulling away as officers tried to restrain him, according to the complaint.
Police wrote in the complaint that Teat stated, "I'm gonna f–king murder y'all," and "You're gonna get murdered, you two are gonna get murdered," repeating the threats many times. He vomited on the hood of a patrol vehicle due to the intensity of his yelling, police said.
Officers said Teat dug his heels into the ground and jerked away, requiring substantial force to place him into custody. While they removed the vest, he allegedly turned and repeatedly spit into one officer's face. He later kicked and struck the doors and bars inside a patrol vehicle.
Prior record
Teat was sentenced to six months of probation in August 2025 after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor count of lying to authorities, related to a February 2025 arrest in Chalfont Borough by Central Bucks Regional Police, according to court records. In a separate case, in May 2025, he received one year of probation for misdemeanor harassment in Greenwich Township, Berks County.
The charges in a criminal complaint represent accusations of law enforcement. Teat is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
