Photographer Jim Saah's images of Minor Threat, Fugazi and Bad Brains hang at Native Cafe on South Main Street. On Saturday, Sept. 19, they anchor a day-long celebration of D.C. punk culture across five downtown Doylestown venues.

The event, called Salad Days, begins at 1 p.m. and is open to all ages. Doylestown nonprofit Stage United co-presents the day alongside documentary director Scott Crawford, Siren Records and Aundroma Projects.

"Salad Days tells the story of Washington's punk scene, but its spirit influenced countless music scenes and artists, including Doylestown's punk and hardcore scene, which was my earliest introduction to the world of independent music," Joe Montone, Stage United's founder, told Patch.

The exhibition, titled "Jim Saah, In My Eyes, Photographs 1982-1997," features work Saah shot across 15 years inside the D.C. hardcore and punk underground. His photos have appeared in the Washington Post, Rolling Stone, the book "Our Band Could Be Your Life" and on the cover of Fugazi's "Repeater" album.

The Sept. 19 schedule

The day opens with a 10th-anniversary director's cut screening of the 2014 documentary "Salad Days: A Decade of Punk In Washington, D.C." at the County Theater. Director Scott Crawford will introduce the film in person. The cut is not available on streaming platforms.

The documentary features interviews with Dave Grohl, Henry Rollins, Ian MacKaye, Fred Armisen and Thurston Moore.

After the screening, Crawford and Saah will host a meet-and-greet, pop-up shop and book signing at Siren Records. A panel discussion with Greg Polard of the "Where It Went" podcast follows at Hops/Scotch.

The night closes with a live punk show at Puck featuring Colossal Rains, Cryptic Swarm and Sunstroke.

Tickets are available through Stage United's website via the Zeffy platform. Native Cafe is at 12 South Main St. in Doylestown Borough.

The Saah exhibit is on view through the Sept. 19 closing event.
